My approach to teaching is holistic: Merging body, mind and soul in the discovery and emergence of the innate musicality that resides in every human. This expression of soul is our birthright.

In ultimate service to this, I emphasize a strong, supple technical foundation that allows for relaxed efficiency in the hands, freedom and ease of movement, and a rich, succulent tone.

I am classically trained, and the school of technique in which I am trained and that I teach is the Salzedo method, which beautifully unifies organized technical form and musical expression. Lessons plans are flexible according to the individual interests of each student, but all will consist of a distinct focus on technique, rhythmic efficiency, musicality, and music theory. I am also happy to offer lessons focusing exclusively on classical theory to students who desire to especially strengthen their skills in this area.

I am willing to travel to students for an additional fee.
