I have more than 30 years of experience teaching students of all ages. My personal
goal is to foster a life long love of music in each student. I offer customized lessons
where I tailor each student’s lesson to their individual strengths and weaknesses. All
aspects of music are taught including: theory, rhythm, technique, sight-reading, musical genres and articulations and music history. Most importantly, students are taught how to practice so that they can become self-sufficient at the piano. Students participate in recitals and festivals.

Music degrees include Bachelor and Master of Music from the University of North
Carolina at Greensboro. I am also a certified teacher of music by the Music Teachers
National Association.

Method books and Repertoire include Music Tree, Succeeding at the Piano, and Piano Town for
beginning levels. Intermediate and advanced students use the Royal Conservatory of Music Celebration Series as well as other Classical Literature. Students are encouraged to enroll for the annual assessments.
